GCSE Result Day


 

Sturminster Newton High School are delighted to announce their best set of GCSE results ever, with 70% of students gaining 4+ (the old ‘C’ grade) in English and Maths, up 4% on last year and 50% achieving 5+ (between a B and a C in old grades) in English and Maths up 9% on last year. Just under 50% of all students gained at least one A/A* (7-9) in their subjects and 20% of all GCSEs were at 7-9 (A/A*) with just under a quarter (23%) of all students gaining an A/A* (7-9) in Maths. In total 75% of all GCSEs taken were at grade 4 (‘C’) or above.

Headteacher Jason Davis said ‘This is a fantastic achievement and our students are both delighted and proud. Many congratulations to them and the staff for their dedication and hard work in achieving such great results. Following our ‘Good’ Ofsted judgement in the summer and the very strong ‘A’ level results last week the High School is going from strength to strength due  to this level of commitment from students, staff and parents.’

Tasmin Allen achieved                  1 grade 9, 2 grade 8s, 1 grade 7, 4 grade 6s and 2 A*s
Izzie Townsend achieved             1 grade 9, 3 grade 8s, 5 grade 7s and 1 grade 6
